SKCC Covid-19 hiatus

17 Mar 2020 by Alison Raaymakers

Dear friends
There is no doubt you’re all aware of the crazy, unprecedented and scary times we’re facing right now with the CoronaVirus outbreak.
We are SKCC and we want to look after all our members. We have made the heartbreaking and very difficult decision that as of today, all SKCC club rides and activities will take a hiatus of 1 month.
The COVID-19 situation is unprecedented and it is time for us to all do our best to minimise it’s spread and flatten the curve.

Looking after physical and emotional health is important at times like these and cycling remains an important part of that equation for most of us.

For SKCC members, ride leaders are exploring online training (Zwift) options, and we’ll share details as they come to hand…along with a how to for those who are new to this style of training, and hopefully an option for members to share equipment with those who don’t have access.

What can we do for exercise? Cycling still remains a great option, but if you go, keep your group small, give each other space, and opt for takeaway coffee (while that is still an option).

Feel free to share your favourite Zwift sessions…and turn up in your SKCC kit (hit P and enter SKCC2015KIT).

Online exercise classes are another option.
